Zac Posen Spring 2013

Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova, Alek Wek, Angela Lindvall, Hilary Rhoda, Coco Rocha. And beyond gorgeous gowns. Need we say more? Of course we do! It's all in our review of Zac Posen Spring 2013.

The Clothes: Zac Posen did not stray from his signature dramatic, ultra sophisticated, rich clothes. All his favorite elements were there: Fish tail hems, below-the-knee skirts, sweetheart necklines, stiff & strapless 3-D bodices, dainty cap sleeves. It was a veritable rainbow out on the runway, with a palette ranging from cream (most notably Coco Rocha's stunning bridal-esque confection in which she closed the show) and butter to berry and green. Heels were high, jewels were sparkly, and the models swished their hips, sashayed and seduced audience members with their eyes.

The Hair & Makeup: Zac's beauty looks are always dreamy, and this season was no exception. Kabuki (for MAC) gave the girls a Lena Horne-inspired look. It was all about the lashes, which took two layers of falsies to achieve. Harry Josh (for John Frieda) colored the girls' hair, taking it either a shade lighter or darker. Per Josh, the hair had to look "rich"--no ombre, roots, or anything multi-tonal. Luigi Merenu gave the girls classic, smooth, shiny waves--they were perfection.

The Vibe: The show was held on the outdoor balcony at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center on a perfect, temperate evening. Everyone dresses to the nines at a Zac Posen show. It's all very proper and posh and elegant.

The Soundtrack: Hip hop. Just kidding. It was American standards and Etta James.

The Front Row: Martha Stewart, Leigh Lezark, Lourdes Leon (Madonna's baby girl, who did not get the message about being elegant at Zac. She wore ripped up jeans), Kelly Osbourne.

Celeb We'd Like to See Wearing It: Beyoncé would fill out these slinky gowns like no one else.

WTF Moment: Backstage we heard vintage supermodel Pat Cleveland say to Naomi Campbell, "I heard you're very spiritual." I was snapped at by a hair stylist to "get the hell out of the way," so that's all of the conversation I can report. It was still pretty intriguing.

Number of Supermodels Who Walked: A zillion: Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurkova, Alek Wek, Angela Lindvall, Hilary Rhoda, Coco Rocha (who ended up walking a show this season after all, despite tweets to the contrary), Crystal Renn, Erin O'Connor
