Finally! More glimpses of Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collaboration have arrived, thanks to the collection's just-unveiled ad campaign.
According to WWD, British artist Sam Taylor-Johnson directed the photo shoot and a series of short films (which are slated to break November 8) for the campaign. Shot in Paris, the ads feature both men and women (who appear to be non-model regulars) in candid settings.
Taylor-Johnson said of the campaign:
"Working with such an anarchic house as Martin Margiela alongside a high-street brand was a challenge that creatively became a crazy, fun project. I wanted to create an atmosphere that was both quiet and still. That each person was in their own emotional and physical thought space. A world away from the heady atmosphere of the usual urban noise."
We say: Mission accomplished. The ads perfectly capture Margiela's avant-garde "anarchic" spirit. Oh and the coats! We want to get our hands on those coats ASAP.
