The Alexander Wang sample sale is today. More importantly (hopefully), it's also election day.
But getting a piece of Wang takes precedence over voting, at least for now, for the 300 shoppers estimated to be standing in line right now in SoHo, according to Racked NY's line dispatch. One diehard Wang fan even got in line at 10:30 p.m. last night. That means that person was waiting for about seven hours. And it was really cold last night.
Anyway, Racked's Talia Aroshas asked around and reported that "Nobody's voted yet." Hopefully they will after they've secured some soft tees and black dresses. And apparently confused passersby keep asking shoppers if they are standing in line to vote.
At 8 a.m. Aroshas wrote, "Innocent bystanders keep asking us if we're waiting in line to vote. It's kind of embarrassing." At least one shopper is just straight up lying and telling people she is voting. Abbé Muir Instagrammed a photo from the Wang sample sale line (she was checked in), and wrote, "a guy just asked 'what are you in line for?' and I was like 'voting!'" Lying is one way to avoid embarassment! But hopefully all these folks will take their purchases right to the polls. From what we've been seeing on the news and social media, the lines for the polls aren't as long.
