We've seen lots of girls following in their model moms' famous stiletto-clad footsteps lately. Cindy Crawford's daughter Kaia Gerber modeled for young Versace (and JCPenney) and Kristen McMenamy's daughter Lily made her modeling debut for YSL and Chanel. But here's one we never saw coming: Anna Nicole Smith's six-year-old daughter Dannielynn is...wait for it...officially a Guess model.
You may recall that a few months after Dannielynn's birth, Smith died of an overdose, and then there was that ugly paternity battle between her two former paramours, Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern. DNA proved Birkhead to be the father (and if you look at pictures it's kind of obvious--she looks just like him). Anyway, with the exception of a few tabloid articles about the adorable little girl, there hasn't been much written about her. That all changes today with her just-announced modeling debut for Guess.
Guess put Anna Nicole Smith on the map after the curvy model replaced Claudia Schiffer as the Guess girl du jour back in 1993, and now it's Dannielynn's turn. She'll be plastered all over buses and magazines in the spring 2013 Guess Kids campaign. "Dannielynn has the same playful spirit that her mother had on a set,” said Paul Marciano, Creative Director for GUESS?, Inc. said in a release. “She is a second-generation GUESS girl, which makes this campaign a first for us.”
Dannielynn looks eerily like that other famous and controversial child model, Thylane Blondeau, with her light eyes and flowy hair. Thankfully though, there is nothing overtly sexual or inappropriate in the shoot at all. We think she looks gorgeous and exactly how a six-year-old should look.
