How To Make Your Makeup Last Through a Full Day of Cooking, Eating and Drinking

Thanksgiving is a marathon day of doing nothing much more than cooking, eating, drinking, and gabbing. So it's quite the workout for your face, and thus, your makeup. We talked to some makeup experts from MAC, NARS, and Maybelline for tips to make your makeup last (which will be helpful all through this marathon holiday season), as well as product recommendations for the most tenaciously long-wearing makeup we could find for your face, eyes, and lips. Thanksgiving is a marathon day of doing nothing much more than cooking, eating, drinking, and gabbing. So it's quite the workout for your face, and thus, your makeup. Once the post-turkey tryptophan coma hits you, there's no way you're going to have the energy to, say, reapply your

Makeup Primers:

Makeup primers help to make you look more luminous and fill in those little imperfections, but their main purpose in life is to help your foundation, concealer, and powder "stick" better.

Long-Wearing Foundations:

OK, so you've primed. Now what? You can use a regular foundation, but there are plenty of brands that offer long-wear options, some up to 14 hours. Long-Wearing Lip Products: This is probably the trickiest product to make last, what with that third dessert you're going for (and second shot of tequila to blunt all your mom's nagging). "For lips that won't quit, start by defining the lip with [a lip pencil] in your chosen color and fill in the entire lip," MAC's Young advised us. "This will help to bind any additional products placed on top." Use your favorite lip color--either a lipstick or gloss--on top.
