L+A is an international buying office with locations in New York, Paris, London, Milan and Florence. Our client roster includes prestigious retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Holt Renfrew and many more. We are currently seeking bright and talented internship candidates who are very eager to learn and ready and willing to work hard for our satellite New York office. Lambert + Associates interns are organized, reliable, efficient and able to balance multiple tasks at once. Most of all, our buying interns need to know the market - new trends, designers, editors, magazines, stores and street styles in New York City.
Our interns are on hand to assist us during NYC fashion weeks, tradeshows and market appointments - sometimes being sent to represent our company. The internship is research heavy, both in office and on the field, and candidates must possess a strong eye for fashion trends and hold a personal interest in the industry. They also assist with day to day office functions which include: market, trend and store research, compiling and formatting data into PowerPoint reports, printing projects, inspiration boards, relevant errand running and occasional sample pick up and returns. While we sometimes work longer days, schedules and hours are flexible and we do our best to ensure that the experience is rewarding.
This Spring, we are specifically looking for two interns with all of the above skills, plus a focus in one or both of the following: • Social Media – Must be a solid writer and be comfortable writing brief posts for our company blog. Enjoys seeking out interesting news within the US fashion industry and consistently keeping the blog relevant and fresh. • Excel Skills – Ability to assist in entering clients’ orders into Excel and using appropriate formulas for a multipage excel document. Must have strong attention to detail and knowledge of retail math. This skill will be very transferable to a position in buying.
Interns are needed to start mid-January with a 4 month time commitment working 2 to 4 days a week. (Days / hours are flexible for the right candidate.) We prefer current students. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning about buying and the fashion industry. Unpaid, school credit available.
