It's been three days since Nicolas Ghesquiere's unexpected departure from Balenciaga was announced and the rumors continue to roll in, involving one pretty big name and a couple of smaller ones. Here's what we've heard.
• Olivier Theyskens. The current Theory designer and former Nina Ricci and Rochas designer definitely has a flair for the dramatic, a great eye for silhouette and has been beloved by critics and celebrities alike for many years. All qualities that would make him an attractive candidate.
• Pedro Lourenco. We threw Lourenco into our roundup of possible candidates on our own, but we hear the "wunderkind" is actually being considered. Not that we're surprised!
• Natacha Ramsay has made headlines for her relationship with Olivier Zahm, whose child she was pregnant with as of NYFW. Behind the scenes, though, she's made great contributions as Ghesquière's first assistant. A source told the Guardian she was in the running.
We also wonder what Kristen Stewart will do. She's always said that she only got involved with Balenciaga because of Ghesquière, whom she clicked with on a photo shoot. She's currently the face of label's new fragrance Florabotanica (she's locked into that one by contract no doubt) and often wears the label on the red carpet.
