Maison Martin Margiela for H&M is still on the racks and already there's a rumor swirling about which designer is up next to collab with the Swedish mega brand.
The word on Twitter and Tumblr (so, um, nothing anywhere near official) is that Givenchy will be the next big designer collaboration. Which would be awesome. Riccardo Tisci would certainly serve up some awesome fringed gothic creations. But consider the source.
It's Tumblr user Fashion Industry Confessions. On November 19, they posted a "confession" that reads: "Rumours straight from the Givenchy head quarters have it they will collaborate with H&M next year." Both Jim Shi and Marie Claire Accessories Director Kyle Anderson fired off tweets today speculating on the would-be collaboration, which only fueled the rumor mill further. But these are two guys who love to talk.
A rep at H&M would only say "we don't comment on rumors" but we get the feeling they were caught off guard by this one.
Update: Givenchy has denied that it is collaborating with H&M to Vogue UK, calling the rumors "false."
