Michelle Obama Wears Reed Krakoff To Official Swearing-In Ceremony

The Inauguration festivities--and Michelle Obama fashion watch--have begun.

Today at noon at a private ceremony in the Blue Room of the White House, President Obama was sworn in for his second term. Only Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and the President's family were present.

Michelle Obama wore a custom ultramarine Reed Krakoff shift dress with a matching cashmere cardigan. The FLOTUS has worn Krakoff several times before but it's an interesting choice given that Ann Romney was criticized during the campaign for wearing Krakoff's $990 silk bird-print t-shirt. We doubt there will be many critics of this look.

Both the President and Malia wore blue as well, the traditional party color, which just so happened to be the color of the room. UPDATE: Malia wore a blue skater-styler dress from H&M that she wore during the DNC. It retails for $59.95. She layered it up with a black long-sleeved shirt underneath. Sasha broke the blue trend wearing a plum lace dress from Tracy Reese's lower-priced line Plenty, made exclusively for Anthropologie. She also adorably teased her dad following the swearing-in ceremony the New York Times' is reporting, saying “Good job, Daddy... You didn’t mess up," referring to four years ago when Justice Roberts incorrectly administered the oath and Obama repeated it incorrectly.

So that's one point for Krakoff, and we're sure the rest of New York's designers are crossing their fingers for tomorrow's ceremonial swearing-in event and balls.
