Quvenzhané Wallis, the totally adorable star of Beasts of the Southern Wild, just became the youngest person to be nominated for the Best Actress Oscar at nine years old--pretty impressive when you consider the film was her first-ever acting job.
Because she's so young, Quvenzhané (pronounced Kuh-VAHN-zuh-nay, FYI!) is refreshingly clueless about the hype surrounding her nomination. She's never even watched an Academy Awards ceremony, telling The Grio, “Whenever they said you might make it to the Oscars, I was like, ‘Who’s Oscar? I don’t know Oscar.’”
So it's safe to say that Quvenzhané hasn't exactly spent hours plotting her Oscar night outfit. The actress says she'll consider “all colors except for black by itself” and not to expect her to wear a full-length princess-y gown.
“I might step on it,” she said, by way of explanation.
We can't wait to see what the pint-sized phenom decides to wear on the big day. (We're hoping she brings another Poochie!)
