"Every award season begins with long, late nights of research--sifting through red carpet images from ceremonies past and countless visits to Style.com. I began pulling and intro-ing clients to designers in early December. I want my girls to have plenty of options.
I’m styling three clients (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Sienna Miller, and Nicole Richie) for Golden Globes so pre-planning and a strategy is key. Check out Loverne – poor Girl dog. (She got a cut!)"
"The week leading up to Golden Globes is filled with events galore and every occasion calls for the appropriate shoe. As you can see, we have a few options. But honestly, can one ever have enough?"
"Visiting LA’s showrooms and shops to see all the gorgeous samples is one of my favorite parts of the whole process."
"Up close and inspiring details."
"Picking the right accessories can make or break an outfit. Dressing for the red carpet is all about creating breathtaking, memorable moments for your clients. The “best-dressed list” isn’t the main driving force, but not ending up on the “worst-dressed list” is certainly a motivation. The right accessory can make all the difference."
"Racks upon racks upon racks of clothing fill every inch of my house!"
"All work and no play makes Cher a very dull girl. Plus, how could I pass up a visit to the new Isabel Marant store at Melrose Place?"
"I love to make sure my girls see absolutely everything there is to see. In case you’re wondering, I love leopard print. ;)"
"In addition to my normal girls, I’m working with Golden Globe presenter and Rosie’s beau, Jason Statham. As a result, my dining room was turned into a makeshift men’s fitting room. I don’t style many men on a regular basis, so when the opportunity arises I jump at the chance!"
"A stylist is NOTHING without her assistant. My assistant Daniela is such a trooper. Dedication to fashion and immunity to fatigue are assets for a good assistant, especially during awards season."
"After a long and exhausting week everyone is sorted for the 2013 Golden Globes. Time to celebrate!"
The final product: Cher’s gorgeous clients on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globes. Nicole Richie wore Naeem Khan, Rosie Huntington-Whitely wore Saint Laurent, and Sienna Miller wore Erdem.
“Each of my clients is an individual and I like to think of the process as very collaborative. All my girls have their ideas about what they want to convey through their fashion and their input is considered heavily when I pull and finalize looks. My main goal is to send my clients onto the carpet feeling 100% comfortable in their skin.”
