Tom Ford is doing a collaboration--but don't get your hopes up for that once-rumored H&M tie-up.
The designer has joined forces with Justin Timberlake to "create the refined style" featured on the singer's new album The 20/20 Experience, the LA Times is reporting.
According to the announcement, "Ford worked closely with Timberlake and his team to provide made-to-measure tailoring, including eveningwear, suiting, shirting, ties, shoes and accessories that will be a focal point of the The 20/20 Experience."
It's hard to say what exactly that means until the album drops on March 19, but if JT's just-released single "Suit & Tie" and corresponding video are anything to go by we can probably expect a whole lot of sleek Tom Ford steez to come.
The "Suit & Tie" video, for instance, might as well be a Tom Ford commercial. Timberlake, sporting a dapper Tom Ford suit, looks like he just stepped off the set of A Single Man. Tom Ford's logo, on the back of a tie, even gets some screen time. Ford also created the artwork for the album's first single, which features a closely cropped shot of a tux and bow-tie (designed, of course by Ford) and does really look like a Tom Ford print ad.
The LA Times notes that Timberlake wore a Tom Ford suit to the recent SAG Awards, so this collaboration will probably extend off stage and off screen as well.
"I adore Justin. He has innate style and enormous talent," Ford said. "It has been such a pleasure and honor to work with him throughout this entire creative process."
We still don't quite get it (is Ford now Justin's stylist? His personal tailor? Creative director of his album?) but needless to say we look forward to seeing what these handsome talented men will cook up together.
