This season, the Edun boy and girl went downtown with some rather dark takes on youth classics. The collection felt a little more hard-edged than in seasons past, with studded chain link sweaters for men, electric yellow tweed minis for women, and black leather biker jackets for both sexes.
Bowie’s “John, I’m Only Dancing” looped as the models stomped through the neon-lit, concrete white set, and the feel of the runway recalled the moments before a slightly debaucherous, but still put together, night out. The use of black lamé and silver chain details only added to the mood. It was a very wearable collection--we wouldn't mind grabbing one of designer Sharon Wauchob’s oversized (and quite sophisticated) plaid and leather paneled coats for an after-hours adventure of our own. Or dancing alongside Bono, who was holding camp to the right of the stage along with wife and Edun co-founder Ali Hewson.
