When we wrote about Novis as a label to wach, we hadn't even seen Jordana Warmflash's designs in person. And now that we have, we're even more excited about this young--but very sophisticated--line.
This time, Warmflash's cocktail and formal attire was inspired by Richard Avedon's photography from Paris in the '50s and '60s. "Clean lines, but there's always a little bit of whimsical," said Warmflash, wearing a dress from the collection with a print inspired by buildings in Paris.
The influence of that time period was hard to miss in a leopard print skirt suit, car coats, pleated skirts, tea-length dresses and ruby-colored cigarette pants--all of which looked impossibly chic. The evening dresses were truly stunning and I counted more than one viable red carpet look.
The collection was timeless, elegant and sweet--a refreshing respite from the often dark and trend-driven NYFW.
