Alber Elbaz couldn't make it to New York for his spring 2013 ad campaign shoot. According to WWD, Sandy got in the way. However, thanks to modern technology, he was still an active participant.
At first, you think you're watching a very serious, glamourous, moody video of models exchanging intense glances and then you get a surprise Skype call from Alber! Who then starts talking to no one in particular (the models? Steven Meisel?) about how much he "adores" the campaign and feels like he's in a cloud.
Aside from that, it's the most traditional ad campaign we've seen from Lanvin in a while. In contrast with last season's "real women," this campaign features the model-y-est models around like Karlie Kloss, Saskia de Brauw and Daria Strokous. And sadly, there's no silly dancing. It kind of reminds us of the Sofia Coppola-directed Marni X H&M ads (and Alber does say there's "something very California" about it). We still like it, though.
