Charlize Theron is said to be launching a denim line.
She's not the first celebrity we'd peg to get into the fashion game, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Theron and her stylist Leslie Fremar are "shopping the idea" for a Theron Jeans line to other denim brands and retailers, hoping, we imagine, to snag an investor.
Theron always looks great on the red carpet--but she isn't exactly known for her off-duty style (though we're sure she looks really good in jeans). Fremar, on the other hand, has plenty of fashion cred. After stints at Vogue and Prada, she's risen to become one of the most sought-after stylists in Hollywood, with clients like Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, and, of course, Theron. In 2012, The Hollywood Reporter named her the second most powerful celebrity stylist.
All things considered, we're pretty sure Fremar will be the brains behind the operation and Theron the face.
Fremar would just be the latest in a string of stylists to launch a line. Kate Young, who nabbed the number one spot on The Hollywood Reporter's list of most powerful stylists, is launching an eveningwear line for Target. Cher Coulter launched a denim line with AG. And of course, Katie Holmes paved the way with Holmes and Yang, the line she lanched with her stylist Jeanne Yang.
Maybe celeb-plus-stylist-designed lines have replaced celebrity-designed lines.
