We got our Fashionista March Madness tournament started yesterday with back-to-back rounds pitting New York Fashion Week's top shows against each other.
Today, it's round one for Milan, where Italian powerhouses Dolce & Gabbana and Versace will go head-to-head and Max Mara will attempt to take down the Prada Goliath.
Tip off starts now! Read on for the winners.
At first, this was a tight race. As soon as one point came in for Versace's "Cindy Crawford hot" collection, another came in for Dolce & Gabbana's "obsession-worthy" shoes.
But Versace's crazy furs weren't enough to topple Dolce & Gabbana's religious icons. Despite both being loud collections, Versace's "day glows" were deemed too much, and Dolce and comes out with the crown--literally.
WINNER: Dolce & Gabbana
Ouch. This one was a literal shut-out: Not one single vote came through for Max Mara, despite strong hopes for the warm and nubby outerwear.
But in the strongest showing of any player yet, Prada absolutely trampled the competition with a high glamour factor as well as the cinematic quality of the runway.
There was, however, a warning shot from Fashionista contributor Kibwe: "The judges want you to bring us something new next time; you are coasting through on 'safe' and it might get you sent home."
UPDATED BRACKET: Dolce & Gabbana and Prada move on to the next round.
Tomorrow, Christopher Kane, Preen, Burberry, and Jonathan Saunders will compete in London.
