With his temporary gig at Oscar de la Renta supposedly over (initial reports said it would last three weeks), we're all left wondering: what's Galliano's next move?
Central Saint Martins may have dismissed reports that he was taking on a teaching role there, but that doesn't mean those rumors that he may teach somewhere were entirely baseless.
Back in February, the Post heard that Galliano "would be welcome" at Parsons The New School for Design. And recently, we heard from our own reliable source that the former Dior creative director is, in fact, in talks with the prestigious design school.
We happened to run into Parsons Dean of Fashion Simon Collins at Monday night's launch event for the CFDA and eBay's You Can't Fake Fashion collaboration, and while he didn't confirm or deny the rumors, he did say (emphatically) that he "loves John Galliano" and intimated that he'd be happy to have Galliano teach at Parsons.
It would make sense: Rumors that Galliano was interested in teaching predated speculation that the teaching would take place at CSM, and Galliano did move to New York, not London. Parsons is the most prestigious design school in New York, etc.
A rep from Parsons said they could not comment at this time.
