We know the point of these ads is to sell handbags, and whoever art directed them clearly tried to highlight the bags by juxtaposing brightly colored ones against a stark background, but we can't help but be a little distracted by how gorgeous Marion Cotillard--and her clothes--are.
This is definitely Cotillard's most simple Lady Dior ad yet--and the first in which she's wearing Raf Simons, whose designs for the house suit her incredibly well and add a timeless quality to the ads, which were shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
If these were in black and white, they could easily have been from the '50s.
The ads will bow in Numéro magazine in France on Monday and in the May issue of Vanity Fair in the U.S., due out on April 9, as well as dior-mag.com, according to WWD.
