Leading fashion PR & Production agency KCD, is seeking a Community Manager to work in their Digital division, based in NY. A Community Manager acts as an integral ambassador to both KCD and its clients and works to bring a professional, motivated and diversified skills set to compliment the department and agency. This digital-savvy individual is responsible for all communications, PR, social media, events, and content creation, for KCD Digital clients. They are expected to incorporate online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the company’s brand, both online and off.
The Community Manager will oversee, manage and execute the online presence, specifically social media, for multiple KCD Digital clients simultaneously. They will be trusted with the brand’s digital persona and presence. In addition to being the voice, they need to be the eyes and ears of the brand online as well.
They have the capacity and skill set to instill trust in clients and have strong relationships with a wide range of fashion, lifestyle and digital media persons. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects will contribute to their overall Agency success. They will have the appropriate style and taste to serve as an exceptional brand ambassador for both KCD and its clients.
General Responsibilities – Community Manager: • Develop and execute each brand’s digital presence, including the content and growth strategy, utilizing blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties • Lead content creation, which will require a creative approach digital content when additional budget or creative resources may not be available. Content can include: ⋅ Developing stories and content themes ⋅ Write blog posts, Tweets, Facebook posts ⋅ Photoshop images together, making GIFs, short videos, anything that would be published to social media channels ⋅ Create new and unique opportunities to engage audiences • Online participation & monitoring: Minute by minute participation in conversations that surround our content and brand, answer comments, be a mediator. • Events, panels and networking–Be tapped in the fashion/digital community, keep abreast on and attend industry events, panels discussions, meetups, etc • Public relations –Maintain relationships with all relevant websites and bloggers, keeping current on the stories, angles and content they publish. Work hand-in-hand with the PR team maximize digital buzz for the brand and support all brand initiatives, content and events. • Customer relations –Where applicable, be capable of handling, or appropriately directing costumer relations issues or requests that may arise, responsible for answering questions, managing any online and recording online feedback • Analytics& Reports – Use proven measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives. • Translate data into recommendations and plans for revising the social media campaigns. • Research-continuously; read, research and network to expanding your digital knowledge. This also includes competitive research, being aware of what other brands and other industries are doing in the digital space.
Qualifications • A MINIMUM of 3-4 years experience managing the online presence and social networks for a brand is a MUST, with a demonstrated track record of success • Burning passion for, and addiction to, all things digital and social media related • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and their best practices • Combination of creative and strategic thinking, ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound • Strong writing skills, with backstage in journalism or editorial • Must be incredibly detail-oriented • Interest in, and knowledge of, the fashion industry • Willingness to engage in the community manager role around the clock. The job involves communicating, monitoring, and responding outside of the office hours. • Strong time management skills, ability to multitask, intelligent – this role requires managing many different areas for several clients simultaneously, does not get stressed under pressure • Public relations experience is a plus • Basic knowledge of Photopshop, SEO, and HTML • A degree in journalism, communications or English
