Today, rumors started flying around the Internets that Victoria's Secret was cutting ties with one of its most well-known Angels, Miranda Kerr.
US Weekly reported that Kerr's 3-year $1 million contract with the brand would not be renewed for various reasons, including what one "insider" called Kerr's "difficult reputation" and allegations that she's "not a big seller for VS."
Except that it's not entirely true.
Ed Razek, President and Chief Marketing Officer for Victoria's Secret, issued the following statement in response:
Miranda Kerr is one of the best models in the history of the business--and easily one of the most popular. She is also a consummate professional. Any rumors to the contrary are simply untrue. While her international commitments have kept her away from us more than we'd like over the past few years, she will always be an Angel to me. We have no plans to stop working with her. In fact, I've already invited her to walk the runway in this year's fashion show and, happily, she's agreed.
While admittedly there is no specific mention of her Angel status, it certainly sounds like Victoria's Secret is happy with Kerr's performance. It's possible that even if her contract is ending, she'll continue to work with the brand.
So breathe easy for now boys--you'll still be seeing Kerr strutting her nearly-naked stuff come November.
