Chic is one of the most overused words in fashion. But if anyone embodies the word it's muse, model, consultant, author and now creative director, Inès de la Fressange. Yes, de la Fressange is returning to the eponymous fashion label she started back in 1991.
Calao Finance, along with Dubai-based The Luxury Fund (which owns a stake in Elie Saab) and private French investors, just acquired the label from Francois-Louis Vuitton for "an undislosed sum," according to WWD. Fabrice Boe, who's done stints at Hermès and Lancôme, will be the president.
De la Fressange, who left the label in 1999, "will be involved in the artistic direction of the label, as well as licensing and public relations," according to Fmag. Expect to see fashion, accessories, and lifestyle objects from the label. According to a release, sales are expected to hit about $26 million.
