We gasped out an empathetic "Ouch!" when we saw pictures of Julianne Moore on the Cannes red carpet with her pinky toes looking mangled in a too-narrow pair of platform stilettos. But it apparently wasn't as bad as it looked.
Moore went on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about the now-infamous shoe shots seen 'round-the-world, which she hilariously dubbed "Toemageddon."
"There's so much pressure to look good, to look perfect," Moore told Fallon. "I thought I had everything under control. But I didn't have it. It was a mess."
Moore went on to say that she and her stylist Leslie Fremar noticed that the shoe platform was rather narrow and there was a "possibility of my toes falling off." But they figured it would be fine.
"What I didn't prepare myself for was the pivoting," Moore said. "I thought it all went fine, and I was comfortable in my shoes and I went and saw the movie."
She claims she didn't feel a thing, which we find really hard to believe. She must be some kind of shoe ninja--she can probably walk on hot coals. A true red carpet pro.
