2013 has been Kerry Washington's year. Her show, Scandal, has steadily become a pretty big hit (definitely start watching it if you haven't--it's so good); and she kicked off the year with Oscar-nominated Django Unchained. She's also been killing. it. on. the. red. carpet.
Washington--stylish, poised, and talented (not to mention stunning)--is a tailor-made fashion mag cover girl if we ever saw one. Still, until now, she'd only covered a few niche titles like Ebony, Essence, and Women's Health. Why? "Can there be more than one ‘It' girl in Hollywood? And can that ‘It' girl be African American, or Asian, or East Indian, or any race other than Caucasian?" Monique Davis of Popular Critic wondered a few months ago, her sentiments echoed by Jezebel.
Well, finally, here she is on the cover of Elle's June 2013 issue, looking pretty hot in Marc Jacobs.
What do you think? And could (should) a Vogue cover be next?
