School of Style, a boutique fashion school for stylists, is looking for smart, driven and organized individuals to assist with day-to-day operations in our LA office. You will be working directly with Celebrity Stylist Luke Storey and Fashion Expert Lauren Messiah. The selected candidates will receive hands-on experience working for a start-up company and an opportunity to grow with the organization. Interns will also get a glimpse into the exciting world of fashion through our courses and through assisting on the day-to-day tasks related to various styling jobs.
These are unpaid summer positions, but school credit is offered for current students. Parking and some expenses are provided. Upon completion of the internship, interns will receive a scholarship to School of Style’s 3-class program. (A value of $1700.)
Open internship positions and expectations include:
Editorial Summer Intern: Expectations • Editorial projects: Curating content, editorial brainstorms, slideshows, content, researching & pitching stories. • General assistance: Drafting communication, pulling lists, reviewing bloggers, maintaining database • Data entry & research
Requirements • Strong knowledge and interest of fashion as well as experience writing fashion • Excellent phone and communication skills • Computer savvy • Enthusiastic, hard working, & detail-oriented! • Dependable, punctual, and a great attitude • Reliable transportation
Social Media/PR Intern: Expectations • Ongoing Projects: Manage and track samples for styling jobs, developing press packages • Data entry & research • Administrative work • Organizing studio, coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs, checking-in and preparing samples for stylists • Blogging for the School of Style blog • Maintain social media outlets including: Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instragram, YouTube • Conduct media outreach to influential bloggers • Participate in company brainstorming sessions on marketing initiatives
Requirements • Interest in fashion • Highly organized and dependable • Computer savvy • Must be able to take initiative and work independently • Experience in blogging and social media • Working knowledge of WordPress and HTML • Reliable transportation
Graphic Design/IT Intern Expectations • Execute design solutions across a range of mediums including marketing materials and internal documents • Ongoing projects: include editing and retouching, general IT management • Day-to-day branding of the company
Requirements • Interest in fashion • Highly organized and dependable • Creative, enthusiastic, and highly motivated • Must be able to take initiative and work independently • Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator • Previous experience with graphic design and art direction • Own a laptop and have internet access at home
Fashion Office Intern Expectations • Work closely with the founders of the company (in various aspects of running a startup) • You will gain hands on experience in all departments on a daily basis (sales, accounting, etc.) • Administrative work • Ongoing office projects • Data entry & research • Organizing studio, coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs, checking-in and preparing samples for stylists • Manage and track samples for styling jobs
