Ever since the Beckham clan relocated back to their native UK, everyone has been wondering whether Victoria Beckham would show her collections in London instead of New York. Well, sorry Londoners, we get to keep her--if her cover story in German magazine Icon is anything to go by.
"I have a great slot in the [New York] calendar and love to be there," she told Icon, whose latest issue she covers. "So why fix what's not [broken]?" She went on to acknowledge that when she started her line 10 seasons ago, London didn't get the attention from journalists and buyers that it does now, which is why she originally chose to launch in the US. "And I want to continue to pay my respects to the Americans. New York offers me a big stage," she said.
Her brood seems to have inherited her love of fashion--and she and hubby David encourage it. "It's just in them...David is also very interested in how he dresses," Beckham said. "And why shouldn't they also have fun with it? I'm glad when children pay attention to how they look when they leave the house." (Harper is also just as girly as she seems. "I can't put make-up on when Harper's around, because she would try and do the same immediately," Beckham said.)
But as we all know, while fashion may be Beckham's claim to fame now--it was the Spice Girls that originally put her on the world's radar. So will Posh ever put on her platform boots and sing onstage again? "I sing like all mothers with children, in the car. But professionally, I will never do it again."
Can you imagine the Beckhams all belting out "If you wannabe my lover.." in the back of the Range Rover? We'd kill to hear that.
