There was something different about Candice Swanepoel at last night's amfAR Inspiration Gala.
The Victoria's Secret stunner had bleached out her normally sunny blonde locks just hours before. "I needed to re-do my color, and I don't like to be bored, so I just said, 'Let's do something crazy,'" she said of the new hue.
Swanepoel hadn't quite adjusted to her new tresses before hitting the red carpet. "I don't even know what I look like," she joked, pulling at a strand before adding, "It's gonna take me some time to get used to, but I think it's cool."
Also cool? The Victoria's Secret Angel has just landed the cover of the brand's swim catalogue. "I used to see Gisele and all those iconic girls of the past on the swim cover, so it's important to me," she said of the honor.
"For me, that's the thing that I enjoy most about being a Victoria's Secret girl, being able to go to those amazing islands and everything," she continued. "You can really see in the pictures how much I love it, so I think that's why I always get the cover."
Swanepoel was happy to leave the sun-drenched beaches for New York to attend the amfAR Inspiration Gala, which has a special place in Swanepoel's heart. "Being from South Africa where AIDS is such a problem, I'm happy to come to these things," she said. "It's such a good cause."
