Spotted: Little J Taylor Momsen once again climbing the ranks amongst New York City's fashion Elite. Well, make that Next--the Gossip Girl star-turned-rock star has just been signed to Next Model Management.
According to Grazia, Momsen, who is somehow only 19, will join the ranks of Alexa Chung, Jessica Alba, Lana del Rey, and Rita Ora as the latest celebrity face to be represented by the agency. Her past brushes with the fashion world include fronting Madonna's Material Girl line way back when, doing a campaign for John Galliano's perfume Parlez-Moi d'Amour before the incident, accidentally sabotaging and then saving Eleanor Waldorf's line when Serena van der Woodsen donned a Jenny Humphrey original on the catwalk, and breathing new life into vertically braided hairstyles during a brief childhood stint in Whoville. She was signed to IMG at age 14 in 2008, before being dropped by the agency two years later.
"I'm excited about my new relationship with Next Models," said Momsen in a statement. "Next has great vision, and will be a fantastic partner in furthering both my music and fashion."
All jokes aside, Momsen's certainly got a model bod (we've all seen enough of it to know) and, to put it nicely, clearly isn't afraid to experiment with her look. Whether that will translate into sales for the brands she might represent, we'll just have to wait and see. As long as they're well-equipped with a whole lotta makeup remover and possibly some Febreze, we'd say Little J might be onto something.
