As promised, Christian Lacroix unveiled an 18-look collection for the... gradually revived house of Schiaparelli.
Each look was subtly inspired by Schiaparelli's designs and general aesthetic. Of course, the resulting looks were anything but subtle, given Lacroix's signature flare for drama and opulence.
It feels appropriate that they were shown on mannequins in a museum (Les Arts Décoratifs). While not exactly wearable (Schiaparelli does not intend to produce or sell the clothes), they would certainly be fun to look at. Which we might get to do--according to WWD, the house is considering a traveling exhibition of the work, which could certainly help create more buzz.
You know what else could create buzz? The naming of a creative director, but who knows when that will happen.
