Despite growing up an hour's drive from Disney World in Florida, I was never that into Mickey Mouse as a motif.
You see, living that close to Disney--our family called it the "Mouse House"--meant I was constantly surrounded by Disney kooks. You know the type: Mickey and Minnie on EVERYTHING, annual pass holders who go at least once a week, and who can (and will) give you an hour-long dissertation on why Tink is really the best Disney character. They're just really, really fanatic about Disney.
So I always had an aversion to any piece of clothing with a cartoon character on it--until Marc Jacobs put the Mouse on a sweater. Funny how that works, isn't it?
I can't exactly afford Marc Jacobs prices, especially when I wasn't even sure I wanted to commit to this trend anyway. But then Old Navy nabbed a licensing agreement and put together some seriously cute vintage-inspired tees at a significantly more swingable price point.
I grabbed this heathered oatmeal number, and it just makes me happy to wear. Plus, if we're being honest, it kind of reminds me of home.
