The roster of willowy, Rodarte-loving starlets is seemingly endless. There's Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning, Natalie Portman, Kerry Washington... But there's still one celebrity on designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy's wish list that they've yet to dress: Vin Diesel! Of course!
In the latest episode of Vanity Fair's web series @VFHollywood, the sisters sit down with Krista Smith to dish on their career highlights (like having a dress on display in the Met), personal heroes (parents and Einstein), and their various movie star muses. After discussing at length the vision of perfection that is K. Dunst ("She's so talented and... awesome..."), Smith finally asks the Mulleavys the hard-hitting question that's been on everyone's mind for years now: "Do you think you could design something for Vin [Diesel]?"
"Yeah, totally," Kate replies without hesitation, as Laura nods in approval. "I mean, he'd be the most fun to design for because he makes movies like Chronicles of Riddick... or even something like Fast and the Furious. You remember the things that the characters kinda wear as their signature..."
"Yeah," adds Laura. "You could remake his cross." Yes, yes, a thousand times, YES!
Why this union hasn't happened yet is beyond us. Clearly, Black Swan was just a resume builder--what Rodarte really needs is a costume design credit on Fast & Furious 7.
