Think of Carlos Campos’s spring collection as a more refined take on football fanwear. This collection was a big valentine to soccer and everyone that loves it, down to the players, referees, and fans.
That meant re-imagined takes on uniform separates, sport jackets, and suiting. Although they had elastic waistbands, his uniform shorts were smartened up with a more form-fitting silhouette that recalled the ‘70s but with a length (a few inches short of knee) that felt very 2013. Pants and windbreakers were crisp and sporty, paired with boxy short sleeve button-downs and refined polos with abbreviated short sleeves. Soccer was also literally represented in the prints, which included goalie nets, whistles, and wide horizontal stripes.
Done in a color palette of ivory, steel gray, and navy, Campos delivered a clear game plan for preppy, refined, athletic separates.
