Looking for an easy, breezy, but slightly structural white summer dress? Prabal Gurung will have you covered next spring with his contemporary label ICB.
The first several looks were all white, some with pale metallic silver accents, and paired with clean white platform sneakers. A look that felt fresh, sporty, and appealing, both with dresses and jacket-sweatpant combos. There were also a couple of metallic silver and white sweaters I wanted to steal off the model.
Later, the looks got a little bit more sleek and were paired with platforms, which didn't feel as cool, but there were still some good individual pieces, like blue and white printed anoraks, simple cropped sweatshirts, and an awesome fuchsia tulip dress with a cascading top that felt very Prabal, which was followed by a range of cool fuchsia trapeze-like dresses.
After a while, though, we got a little tired of sculptural, dramatic-sleeved, tiered silhouette. A few of the middle looks probably could have been cut. However, things got a little more interesting towards the end.
Those hoping there might be a touch of the razzle dazzle he wowed us with at his namesake collection's show the other day weren't entirely disappointed. An organza crop top, cocoon dress, and shift dress, all adorned with subtle but still noticeable white pailettes closed the show. They still fit in with the sportiness of the rest of Gurung's collection, but still offered a little bit of the excitement he's known for.
