I've always wanted a pair of jeans made from raw Japanese denim with a selvedge finish. I've also always wanted a pair of those A.P.C. Butler jeans, which are second-hand and perfectly worn in.
But there have been a few roadblocks to these purchases. Raw Japanese denim jeans kind of hurt the first few times you wear them. And I still haven't found a pair of Butler jeans that are quite right for me, since every pair fits totally differently. So for now, I'm going to enjoy Gap's answer to selvedge denim that is worn in but also fits just like their other jeans.
The Sexy Boyfriend Selvedge Jean in "worn blue" is a relaxed, cropped style with a a fairly low waist. They look great French-rolled, or just worn straight with flats. The fit is super relaxed, so they don't hurt. But they also have zero stretch, which means no baggy knees. And I think the best part is that the wash looks really pure—there are no weird brown streaks there for a dirty-cool-but-actually-gross effect. Ew. Anyway, they are totally a cheater's jean for those who don't want to deal with raw denim, don't want to wait a year until their raw denim starts to look worn in, or don't want to deal with finding already-worn-in vintage jeans. Win, win, win. Get them here.
