We are a new fashion startup! We design luxury handbags that are sourced & made in developing countries. We believe sustainable employment is the key to economic development and ultimately fighting global poverty. With each person we empower through sustainable employment, we are one step closer to alleviating global poverty. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about luxury fashion and looking to gain experience. This is an unpaid internship -that will lead to a paid position.
Position: Handbag Design Intern
RESPONSIBILITIES Target Customer Focus • Interpret fashion trends, messages of the season, projected big ideas and key items.

Product Design • Design all products in classification in line with seasonal messages and business strategies. • Create and send all spec packages/line sheets. • Work on research and development and execution with overseas team to ensure the highest quality standards are met. • Oversee all approvals/changes from first samples to production. • Works closely with creative director on all design projects.
MUST-HAVES • Strong portfolio of handbag designs. • Proficiency in Microsoft office, Adobe Illustrator, & Photoshop. • Strong luxury fashion sense and well developed taste level. • Entrepreneurial spirit.
SKILLS • Technical expertise in designing genuine leather, fabrics, trims, etc. • Technical expertise in creating spec packs. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to respond to business objectives and creative and innovative design solutions. • Ability to respond quickly to all issues relating to product. • Excellent hand sketching and flat sketching ability.
