Massimiliano Giornetti did deconstructed wardrobe basics with sex appeal for spring 2014.
Keeping the color palette mostly neutral, he did classics with a twist: tailored pinstripe trousers with belts at the hips; pleated skirts with extra fabric hanging to one side; a trench with a slit up the front and gathered sleeves; and a cropped double-breasted blazer that had the illusion of being split at the midriff.
Giornetti's experimentation with this cool deconstruction yielded some great pieces. We loved a gold silk dress with pleats on one side as well as a clean white bomber jacket. But other looks just felt like they could have been simplified. The sculptural heels and minimalist bags felt much more covetable.
