There's no question Sophie Theallet knows how to make a woman look beautiful. Her distinctly female approach to creating figure-flattering frocks has won over fans like Michelle Obama and Victoria's Secret Angel Lindsey Ellingson (who was sitting front row at yesterday's show) as well as nods from the CFDA.
This season, Theallet infused her sweet wares with a surprising amount of sexiness. Gone were the ladylike fit-and-flare frocks so beloved by the FLOTUS. Instead, Theallet offered up body-hugging pencil dresses and skirts in clingy knits. One of my favorite looks was made of an open knit black fabric. Let me tell you, they really did nice things for the model's ass.
It was sexy for sure; But the palette--which mostly stuck to pretty sorbets--kept it from being overtly so. Which is exactly the kind of sexy we like.
