Changes are constantly afoot at Louis Vuitton these days, from Marc Jacobs's exit to the brand's move toward "hyper-luxury" products. Another exciting release on the Vuitton horizon is the label's upcoming “L’Invitation au Voyage” ad campaign, starring the one and only David Bowie.
This is the second installment of the campaign; the first (and Louis Vuitton’s first-ever TV ad) was filmed by Inez and Vinoodh and saw Arizona Muse flying a hot air balloon over the Louvre in Paris.
WWD is reporting that the campaign--which costars Muse and was shot by David Sims--will make its debut in November and include a short film that features a performance by Bowie. Muse, who floats into Venice's famed Piazza San Marco on a hot air balloon, will be serenaded by the rock icon playing a harpsichord. How romantic!
Bowie, who released his 24th album earlier this year, is the latest in a long line of music legends who have starred in Louis Vuitton campaigns, including Bono, Keith Richards, and Madonna. You can watch the mini film on YouTube and Vuitton's website on November 8, and the print ads and TV spots are set to debut November 10.
