It seems the original source is Men's Folio, a Singapore-based men's magazine. "It has been confirmed that that former Balenciaga artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière beat out many contenders to fill in Marc Jacob’s shoes [sic]" they wrote. The story was then picked up by Luxury Society, whose story was then picked up by The Cut.
Twitter is now abuzz with the news, which remains unconfirmed by Louis Vuitton. One of Twitter's few Ghesquière skeptics Vanessa Friedman Tweeted that LVMH has denied the reports, but "possible different in morning [sic]." Style.com also says LVMH had no comment. However, many fashion industry insiders seem to believe (and be really excited about) the reports.

Others are more skeptical.

At the moment, we're on team skeptical. Hopefully LVMH has something to say tomorrow.
