Assistant Store Manager reports to: Store Manager. Hours: Must be able to work full time and on most weekends.
Assistant Store Manager Description: The ASM is responsible for all daily operations of the boutique when the SM is not present. He/She must demonstrate leadership in maximizing profits, building positive sales, and creating an environment that is directly impacted by impeccable customer service. The ASM ensures that the boutique is always visually appealing according to the standards in merchandising directives given, and is able to delegate the appropriate associates to execute daily tasks when assisting the SM or if the SM is not working. Assist in operating the boutique according to policies and procedures provided and efficiently prioritize operational functions. Assist in ensuring the floor is always properly covered according to volume of sales and foot traffic.
Responsibilities: • Assist in achieving and exceeding monthly sales goals and ensuring all associates are exceeding personal goals • Able to take direction from the SM and be able to translate the direction down to the associates when the SM is not present • Help SM maximize profitability by cutting down unnecessary expenses and controlling shrinkage • Set the example for the team of excellent customer service by leading sales efforts on the floor • Help monitor and consistently assist in training each associate on clienteling and customer service • Only do deposits if necessary when the SM is not able to, take responsibility when doing so • Help recruit, train, and maintain stellar sellers while maintaining a list of back up options • Assist in performing daily paperwork operations and check emails often for updates from the SM • Protect store assets and inventory, know the product well and treat the boutique with the utmost care • Able to handle customer issues with ease and confidence when SM is not present • Able to take criticism and positives when it comes to your responsibilities by the SM or the Director of Retail • Implement and adhere to all company policies and procedures • Have the ability to be caring, yet stern on expectations to better the business • Be the last to leave the store at the end of your shift, check all associates’ bags to ensure no one is stealing, turn the temperature at the correct setting, turn off all appropriate lights, set the alarm, and lock all doors if the SM is not working.
Qualifications: • At least two years experience in a high volume boutique • Must be able to work weekends and full time • Must have at least one year experience in supervisor role
