For a second time, Donatella Versace has commissioned Los Angeles-based furniture design duo Simon and Nikolai Haas, also known as the Haas Brothers, to create a limited edition collection of fashion and design items out tomorrow.
Versace has been pretty collaboration-happy lately, particularly with its more accessible line, Versus, for which Donatella tapped M.I.A. to interpret the Versace house codes in her own bootlegg-y way.
The Haas brothers did the same, creating a range of accessories covered in Versace's signature Medusa heads and honeycomb patterns ranging in price from $225 for a "tie necklace" (yes, a necklace for your tie) to $2,975 for a large porcelain decorative leopard (just what's missing from your fireplace mantle). The brothers said they were inspired by "Leather, gold, youth, Italian history, California freedom, luxury, sex, exoticism and Donatella herself!"
“I am thrilled to be working with the Haas Brothers on this special curator project. I love how they take the codes of Versace and bring them somewhere new, pushing Versace forward into a whole other world,” said Donatella Versace
Given the timing, we're guessing the line is meant for holiday gift shoppers; and if there are any fans of Versace or gold, in general, in your life, you should definitely take a look at this collection, available tomorrow at Versace boutiques in SoHo, Paris, Shanghai and Beijing Sanlitun, and online at www.versace.com.
