Three new designers are joining the leadership ranks of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) this month. The CFDA announced Monday that The Row's Ashley Olsen (pictured above), Prabal Gurung and Kate Spade's Deborah Lloyd are all joining the board, which is helmed by CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg and counts Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren among its members. (Olsen's business partner and fraternal twin Mary-Kate is interestingly absent from the list).
The three were confirmed as members at the CFDA's bi-annual membership meeting on Nov. 7, according to a spokesperson for the CFDA. They replaced outgoing members Yeohlee Teng, Isabel Toledo and Kenneth Cole, who have all assumed emeritus board member status.
The CFDA is a not-for-profit trade association that includes more than 400 U.S. fashion, jewelry and accessories designers. The board is responsible for providing governance, overseeing operations, and supporting CFDA initiatives and planning efforts.
