After the passing of a major child model bill in New York State for which it was a huge proponent, the Model Alliance has a lot to celebrate -- and we're partying with them.
They'll be hosting a party on Thursday, November 21 at Susan Sarandon-owned ping pong venue SPiN NYC, kicking off at 9pm. There will be a live auction, which includes items like a makeup lesson from makeup artist Tracy Murphy and a 15-person suite at a Mets game -- donated by top model Anne V, natch. You can also enter a ping pong tournament (the prize is two tickets to our next New York How to Make It in Fashion conference!). The booze is on us from 9 to 10. So come, play some ping pong, and hang out with us and some models.
"With this victory, Model Alliance is truly the big sister we models -- young and old -- need in this industry," says model Hannelore Knuts. "It's reason enough to get together and celebrate -- that and ping pong!”
And anyone who thinks they're a regular Forrest Gump on the ping pong table better watch out:
“We’ve won the legislative battle, but who will emerge victorious at the ping-pong match?" Model Alliance founder Sara Ziff adds jokingly. "Between Arlenis [Sosa] and Elettra [Weidemann], we’ve got stiff competition.”
It's going to be a great night, and we hope to see you out there. You can grab your tickets now for $30, or for $40 at the door. (Must be 21 and up!)
