It's the holidays, which means only one thing in fashion land: February Fashion Month is right around the corner. Designers are already solidifying their plans for their upcoming shows, and it sounds like two more major fashion players might be decamping from Lincoln Center this season.
WWD is reporting that both Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenberg -- two of the most buzzed-about designers who still show their collections at the venue -- are considering other options for their runway presentations this season. While both designers are Lincoln Center mainstays, there has been plenty of news in recent weeks about the massive changes that IMG is planning for the upcoming New York Fashion Week -- namely state of the art show spaces and increased exclusivity -- which may have played a part in their decision to seek out separate venues.
This report comes on the heels of the news that Carolina Herrera, another top-tier designer who normally shows at Lincoln Center, might move off-site this season as well. The final list of who will show at the space will be confirmed next month, and we're betting that we are in for more than a few surprises.
