A Cate Blanchett red carpet moment is like a snow leopard sighting -- so rare, beautiful and mystifying. But now that awards season is upon us, the Blue Jasmine actress is set to debut a series of daring and flawless fresh off-the-runway looks. And we're keeping track.
Before the red carpet festivities begin for this year's Golden Globes (just minutes away!), we've got two Cate Blanchett sightings for you. On Saturday, the actress chose a red Michael Kors dress and brown belt to attend a BAFTA awards tea party sponsored by Mulberry at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. The frock is from one of our favorite Pre-Fall 2014 collections -- not least because of that standout, splashy red the designer used. Here, it works nicely to liven up an otherwise casual shirting style. The poofy cap sleeves and midi length make the look more feminine, and Blanchett's royal blue snakeskin Christian Louboutins fancify everything even more.
Blanchett appeared at another event on Saturday -- this time at the G'Day USA black tie gala -- wearing a gorgeous ivory duchesse column gown from Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2014. The polarized rose print, with bursts of hot pink and bright turquoise, is such an edgy contrast to the subdued white and elegant silhouette. And we are loving her fuchsia lipstick and sparkly blue earrings. The whole effect is somewhat experimental while remaining pretty, which is exactly what we've come to expect from the Blue Jasmine star.
