We'll admit, we raised an eyebrow when Elle released the four covers of its February issue on the Web yesterday. Not that we didn't think all four ladies looked beautiful (which they very obviously did), but we did think it was a bit odd how much more cropped Mindy Kaling's photo was, and that she -- the only non-white actress of the bunch -- was the only one featured in black and white.
Well, it turns out that Kaling didn't see her styling the same way, and she took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to tell the world how thrilled she was with her cover. She wrote:
I love my @ELLEmagazine cover. It made me feel glamorous & cool. And if anyone wants to see more of my body, go on thirteen dates with me.

Sure, reading so far into Kaling's cover might have been a bit oversensitive, but after the controversy surrounding Elle's previous covers with Melissa McCarthy and a closely cropped Gabourey Sidibe, we couldn't help but wonder about the magazine's motivation. That being said, we'd kill to go on 13 dates with you, Mindy. Call us!
