Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have proven they're great at design, both with upscale line The Row and contemporary line Elizabeth and James. But what they might just be best at is outerwear (they are, after all, always cold).
Case in point: The best piece at their fall presentation was the long, charcoal gray duster coat that zipped away at the waist to become a cropped jacket. It was completely genius. More than one editor present wished she could just take it off the model and nip out into the cold New York night.
The key to the rest of the collection was long length: oversized thick knit sweaters, long oxford shirts, and below-the-knee skirts rendered in classic colors like navy, gray, and red. The finishing touch? Sensible Bass loafers.
May we -- and the Olsen twins -- never be uncomfortably cold again.
