Summer hasn't even officially begun yet, but here in fashion land, we've already got our sights set on fall. Vogue has just announced that Lady Gaga will once again serve as its cover girl this autumn, this time for its highly covetable September issue.
Despite Gaga's tendency towards wardrobe malfunctions and platform-induced tumbles, the pop star is actually a pretty safe choice for Vogue. According to WWD, Gaga's March 2011 cover was the second-best seller of the year, so Vogue is undoubtedly hoping for a repeat performance. Last year's September issue featured another old heavy-hitting Vogue fave, Kate Moss.
The cover makes sense time-(and money-)wise for camp Gaga, too.
Gaga is totally, completely, like no-buts-about-it-but-also-all-butts-about-it naked (besides a rather unfortunate hairpiece from the Amanda Bynes Wig Collection) in the upcoming issue of V Magazine.
One question though: Is she missing her labia?
Lady Gaga released the video for her latest single, "Applause," today, and it's... well, it's just that... oh, we don't know. In no fewer than 14 costume changes, Gaga manages to out-weird herself (and that's saying a lot)--at one point, she appears as a floating head attached to a swan's body. At another, she has a pony tail. And we aren't talking about her lace front--though there are plenty of those, too. She may be in the midst of a nude period, but this new vid proves she's still got plenty o' crazy clothes to go around. We're particularly infatuated with this hand-bra situation...
In light of her recent, well-documented weight-gain controversy (can we just pause a moment to acknowledge the absurdity of that phrase?), Lady Gaga did what any respectable lady would do: She fought back with fashion.
