Watching last week's episode of "Girls," we couldn't help but acknowledge that Lena Dunham's character, Hannah Horvath, looked better than ever. In a classic case of life imitating art, Dunham herself has been on a roll lately: Her Vogue cover story in March was a huge hit (aside from that little Jezebel stunt), her recent red carpet and talk show appearance ensembles are well-liked by critics, and now, she's getting the editorial treatment once again for her upcoming book.
Dunham took to her Instagram on Tuesday to tease her author photo shoot for "Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s Learned," which is set to hit shelves on Oct. 7. Working with her fashion dream team -- stylist Shirley Kurata and photographer Autumn de Wilde, who were behind the Girls season three poster and Dunham's first editorial in New York magazine -- she poses like a pin-up girl in a series of '60s-inspired looks.
This doesn't seem like your run-of-the-mill portrait shoot for a first-time author, and because she's wearing fuzzy sweaters and retro, high-waisted briefs, Dunham joked on one of her posts, "Bc serious authors need serious photos..." We love you, Lena.
