Peter Pilotto vs. Alexander Wang, Mountainscape Edition
Mountains are having an improbable fashion moment. For his "survivalist" fall collection, Alexander Wang showed jagged peaks in neon green and purple, splashed across a very cool-looking anorak. Then came the Peter Pilotto show on Monday -- inspired by extreme sports -- which featured the summit motif, in purples and blues, on dresses and a very cozy-looking puffer coat.
Wang's take is decidedly neo-camping -- a futuristic riff on outdoor wear that reads a little rave-y, while Pilotto's version has more of a soft romanticism to it.
Which of these mountainous looks do you prefer? Or do you think this trend should "take a hike?" Wah wah.
